With LED and LCD walls being all the rage BUT expensive, Laser projectors paired up with new projection screen technologies are still a viable solution for many churches. Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screens have made it possible to have a viable image even in brightly lit rooms. However, non-projection devices such as LCD and LED walls are continuing to drop down in price and improve features. We will also look at HD Video distribution solutions both HDBaseT and Video over IP as well as HD Video Switchers.

    Power of Unintentional Teaching

    March 7, 2020 - 2:15 PM Room: D8

    Robert Shreve

    Robert Shreve

Unintentional teaching: is the thing we teach without trying or which we did not mean to teach. An example would be when a teacher asks, “Who created the world?” A student raises his hand and when called upon he says, “Jesus.” The teacher responds, “No” and calls on the next student who answers, “God.” Teacher says, “Yes.” and proceeds’ with the lesson. That teacher has unintentionally taught the children that Jesus is not God and did not create the world. Another example of unintentional teaching is when the teacher tells the children: “Eve ate the forbidden fruit” while holding a picture of a woman with an apple in her hand. Even though the teacher did not mean to, the children will leave the class sure that Eve ate an apple when she sinned because they saw it in the picture. This is how so many of our children become so confused and decide that the stories in the Bible are not true because they are “full of inconsistencies.” We need to take the time to make sure that our intentional teaching and our unintentional teaching line up and are consistent. I have many more examples like these two and principles to avoid unintentional inconsistencies in our teaching and even how to use the power of unintentional teaching to teach our students lessons they will never forget.

What You Might Not Know About Forgiveness

    Steve Diehl

    Steve Diehl

Satan has done everything he can to confuse, mislead, distract, discourage and disconnect Christians from a full and deep experience of all aspects of God's forgiveness. This includes, receiving God's forgiveness, forgiving others, asking others to forgive us, overcoming self-condemnation, resolving anger towards God and restoring broken relationships.

In this workshop we will look at the four biggest missing elements of biblical forgiveness that are missing from most Christian's thinking and practice.

Bridge Building with Muslims: Evangelism Without Extracting Trophy Converts

    March 7, 2020 - 2:15 PM Room: N15

    Bruce Green

    Bruce Green

When it comes to Muslims too often we “Christianize” instead of evangelize; and we wonder why our message is not received as good news. Extracting a few trophy converts is not “good news” to the local Muslim community. Viewing individual Muslims as part of their extended family and community is important in building bridges of trust for meaningful two-way communication. Always ask the question: Will my words or actions build bridges or barriers? Barrier-building results in “Christianizing” and extraction. Bridge Building results in true evangelism, which means sharing the Injil (the Muslim name for the message of Jesus) as “good news” rather than a culturally-conditioned and historically-distorted communication. Learn ways to “speak the truth in love” rather than believing and sharing online postings that are polemical, confrontational and divisive ways of Christianizing. Muslims who follow Jesus are different than Christian proselytes—converts who reject their Muslim heritage and take on a Christian identity. We propose a Kingdom-of-God approach to encourage Muslims—not to change their religious identity, but to become better Muslims by following the Messiah more fully. Learn about such Kingdom-of-God movements throughout the Muslim world, the first fruits of what God is doing today. The enemy is not Islam, it is radicalism. We want to respond to radical Islam with radical Love; we must learn “to be as shrewd as serpents, but as harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16).

Jesus promises (Matt 11:30) that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. How can we possibly experience that in our hopelessly over-scheduled world? Jesus urges us to come to him. However, our way of life is most often seriously over-scheduled and often we wear masks. Come and hear how to teach the men in your church how to walk under the yoke of Jesus.

Overcoming Anger and Depression and Finding Joy

    March 7, 2020 - 2:15 PM Room: WC 214

    Becky Diehl

    Becky Diehl

Gods solution, how forgiveness deeply changes us Anger and Depression are most often the symptoms of hurt and unresolved sin issues in our past and present. This is a very unaddressed topic in our church today. We need God's validation for the hurt and pain as well as His love, comfort and healing. We will not find peace or joy or rest in the deepest part of our being until we feel God's love and find that Justice we search for. Practicing authentic biblical forgiveness is how God heals the human soul and frees us (like a key to our prison door) Anger and Depression stems from Sin and all it has stolen from us. Come and discover the two sides of forgiveness that can change your life and bring that Peace and joy that you long for. Learn how to put real practical forgiveness into practice and let it change your life. God's healing will allow you to step outside the prison doors to a victorious life filled with Joy and new opportunities. Note: Do you want to reach your family or the world for Jesus? They are hungry and longing to see real forgiveness lived out! Let's show them.
