Life’s tragedies are often used as a reason for rejecting the kind and compassionate God of the Bible. Within the Bible such tragedies have a profound place and meaning. On the one hand, the Bible does explain why tragedies happen and their purpose. On the other, the Bible also explains how dealing with them in a healthy way becomes a way in which we can participate in the life of Christ.
Tragedy to be understood has to be placed within the great dimensions of God’s plan of the ages and also within God’s deep love for the individual. Part 2 will emphasize tragedy as a major part of God’s permissive plan, and also an opportunity to participate significantly within that plan.

According to LifeWay Research, 3 in 4 pastors know someone who has experienced domestic or sexual violence. Most opt for outside intervention to resolve acts of domestic/sexual violence that occur in the home. Although, few pastors are familiar with local resources, 8 in 10 pastors would take action to reduce domestic violence and sexual assault if they had training and resources. Join us as we explore the dynamics of domestic Violence (DV), discover how to develop a culture of awareness in the church, and learn the importance of a domestic violence prevention. Attendees will learn how to develop intervention and prevention strategies and how to promote DV awareness across ministries within your church. You will also learn about local resources that are available to your church, how your church can become a resource within your community, and how your church can become one of a growing network of churches in California working to break the cycle of DV.

Gods plan: transformation and walking with Him. How do we experience the vital Christian life we crave? What is it in our journey that has robbed us from experiencing Joy and the fullness of Jesus? Sadly, the world also views the church and does not always see “the Joy filled, satisfying Christian life” that we preach. We will look at what is missing in our daily walk, and what robs us of this Joy. When we have real needs and we do not have them met by God, but use substitutes and shortcuts as our answers, we miss out on life, and God Himself. We mask His love, compassion, kindness, companionship, power, hope and the real answers we seek. Let’s explore together, God’s plan to meet our deepest needs; our longing for justice, and a solution for sin, anger, depression, apathy, addictions, and so many missing pieces in our life. Together we will walk through 6 basic activities that lead to experiencing God Himself more deeply; our healing and God's transformation plan. He gives truth, life, companionship, joy, forgiveness, reconciliation, peace, freedom, purpose and fulfillment in deep and abiding ways that not only change us- but can change our world. Let's show them Jesus by our changed lives!
