    Roy Tinklenberg

Worship is not just something that we do for an hour on the weekends. It is what we do the other 167 hours of our week as well - including all the hours we spend at work. God invites us to stop separating our lives into sacred and secular compartments. He calls us to see our work as an expression of worship and devotion. As Dorothy Sayers says, 'Let the Church see to it that the workers are Christian people and do their work well, as to God: then all the work will be Christian work.

Twice as many people die in violent incidents on religious property as in our schools. Though the statistics for church violence are sobering, there is also reason to hope. Awareness and training have directly contributed to faith-based organizations’ abilities to handle incidents when they do arise. It's now not a matter of if evil comes to our church/ministry offices, worship services, youth events, Sunday Schools and Christian schools, but when! Preparedness begins with awareness and grows with training. Come discover where your church or ministry needs to start learning and taking action.

Introducing One-on-One Discipleship in an Over-Scheduled World

    March 6, 2020 - 3:00 PM Room: WC 215

    Sue Boldt

    Sue Boldt

Today’s women experience the tug of so many demands upon their lives in their various roles found in their homes, workplace, school, and relationships. It’s hard to find time to even breathe! Still, Lord Jesus knows the inestimable value of women meeting together around His presence and His Word, one on one or in intimate discipleship groups, based upon their life’s harried schedules.

For the newest of Christians or for the seasoned believer, this workshop will provide easy, non-scary, but powerful tools to introduce how God’s love and His Word can transform lives and release women into ministry through simple discipleship.

We will interact with one another and prayerfully consider how one on one or small group discipleship might work for us personally or in our church or ministry by discussing:

    • What is our demographic • What would realistically work in our church or ministry setting • Hindrances to discipleship • The potential of writing our own discipleship materials • How discipleship encourages the release of ministry leaders • How discipleship can multiply small groups or church plants • Marketplace ministry • What it means to “do life together” for more in-depth discipleship

Sometimes our issues keep us from serving God in a ministry to others. This workshop will answer two questions - Can I approach God, even with my issues? Can I serve God, even with my issues?
