    Samantha Trimble

    Samantha Trimble

Whether you are a parent looking for tools to help your children engage in worship or you're a minister trying to better equip your congregation towards more intergenerational worship, this is the workshop for you. Studies show that 60-90% of our children will walk away from the church and faith after they graduate. Those are bleak statistics. But the good news is that studies also show that intergenerational relationships within the church and a parent's intentional faith training are two major keys to forming long-lasting faith in our children. Including our children in worship is an excellent opportunity to integrate both of these keys.

Join us as we explore the value and the benefits of working together to intentionally train our children in the love and art of corporate worship. Practical tools and theology provided for all ages, with an emphasis on school-aged children.

Our Youth Matter, Inc. has done several events to impact our community. Over the last 11 years we have held Vacation Bible School in the Park. We have supplied the community with backpacks, school supplies, hygiene kits, books and food bags with our largest event our Back 2 School Bash where 500-700 people is in attendance. We served hot meals, passed out goodie bags and warm items at our Thanksgiving in the Park event. We have given out Christian theme Easter baskets at a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. We have blessed families with toys at Christmas through our annual Toy Drive. Our holiday Adopt – A – Family is growing each year where we meet the needs of 10-25 families and provide gifts from their wish list. We have offered youth the opportunity to attend Professional Sporting events. Each of these events was held outside of the church where we were able to bless many people having a positive impact on our community. Join us for this workshop to explore how YOU can reach out to make a positive impact on YOUR community.

    John Herndon

Today we have a variety of "blended" families. There are subsequent marriages where children are brought together from different unions; single parents with children from different partners; grandparents raising grandchildren; multigenerational families where parents live with their children, or relatives; families who add adoptive or abandoned children to their household. There are probably other combinations but these are the main ones. Blended families present additional challenges to the ones that already exist for conventional families.
