2020 Workshop

Evangelism & Outreach: Exalting Jesus Among Muslims In Democratic Society

3/7/2020 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. Room: N15

Constructive interaction with Muslims is now necessary in our democratic society because God has engineered circumstances that force diverse peoples together. Muslims, and people from many other cultures, are now nearby neighbors to the local church, not just foreign mission objects. God is not the author of confusion, so what is He up to in our generation? How can we cooperate with his Kingdom-of-God agenda to exalt Jesus among all tribes, tongues, peoples and nations?

This workshop will deconstruct politically-correct jargon and provide biblical working definitions for terms such as: “diversity,” “unity,” “racism,” “ethnic,” “justice,” “Christianity,” “peace” and “submission.” Secular humanist, evolutionary-biased activists are trying to form alliances with Muslims on a pro-abortion, sexually-amorphous political agenda which is contrary to traditional Islamic values. Pro-life, sexual-purity-focused evangelical Christians have much more in common with the typical Muslim, but we must engage in a proactive way, not for short-term political gains but for the sake of advancing God’s Kingdom. We must be the “salt of the earth” and not lose our saltiness or keep it contained in stained-glass salt shakers. This workshop will better equip you for the culture war raging around us, with particular attention to loving our Muslim neighbors.
