2018 Workshop

Audio Visual & Media: Garbled Sound

This is a beginner/intermediate course about the electronics of the sound system and how they are suppose too work together. What happened to the beautiful singer’s voice when they began to use the microphone and all you hear is a Charlie Brown adult voice (Wah wah wah wah)? Do you have big enough speakers to get the sound level you need? Are the amplifiers big enough to get the power to the speakers? Is there proper electrical supply to the equipment so it is not over heating or unable to produce the level of audio that it is rated for? Does the wireless microphone not sound as good as the wired microphone? This will include talking about audio acronyms that describe the electronic signals and how to read them on an app or other test equipment. How to set the levels on everything but the mixing consol.
