As President and founder of Zamar Media Solutions, Michael Dow has been an active proponent of improving technology in the church community. He has accomplished this by forming a Christ-based installation and consulting firm that is committed to serving the Christian community. His firm has made an exceedingly strong commitment to educating the church tech community on how to operate and use the technical systems needed by churches today.

Dow founded Zamar Sound in 1991 as a consultancy focused on helping the Church improve the technical quality of its presentation. His company has now grown to a contracting firm working with larger facilities as well as the small-church market.

Audio Visual & Media: Digital Mixer for the Church

3/3/2018

Digital mixers are a great tool to help you improve the audio at your church. We’ll show you the features you should look for and also how to avoid the features that can make a digital mixer actually harder to use. Imagine being able to get a great worship mix and be able to save ALL of the settings so they are already there the following week. Digital mixers can do that and many more things that will greatly improve your audio consistency each week. The real trick is to be sure to get the proper training on your mixers operation and have it pre-programmed so it works great on the first Sunday. The average time to fully program a new digital mixer the first time is between 6 to 8 hours. Then you’ll need another 4 hour worship rehearsal to get all the EQ and monitor settings right. Remember a digital mixer has a full suite of effects (eq, compression, gating, plugins and reverb) built-in on EACH channel. If you don’t use all of this then you’ve wasted you funds. Let us introduce you to digital mixers and how to select one that works for you and your church.
