A Conference for Northern California Churches

Daniel Strange

Pastor of Young Families

Three Crosses Church

Castro Valley, CA

In the Fall of 1999 I found myself in a UC Berkeley dorm room with the Bible in my lap.

I had started coming to church in high school when some friends invited me to youth group. Still, when I graduated and went off to college, I didn't really understand what Christianity was all about. I had tried to pray, tried to read the Bible, but it never really stuck.

One morning, all alone in my dorm room, I dusted off my Bible and began to read. Something was different this time around. I found myself understanding the words I read. I found myself wanting to read more. I found myself looking forward to my time alone with God each day.

As I spent more and more time in Scripture, I watched in awe as God transformed my life around me. He grew a passion for His Kingdom. He changed my vision for the future. He called me into ministry. Looking back, I consider this to be one of the most pivotal seasons of my life. God was doing His work of transformation in me as He opened my eyes to His Word, His Son, and His Purposes.

After graduating from Cal, I served as a Pastor for two years before moving to Dallas to complete my ThM at Dallas Theological Seminary. My wife and I had our first child in Dallas, and then moved back to Castro Valley, where I have been serving as a Pastor at Three Crosses ever since.

I live in Castro Valley with my wife and four children, except for the three weeks a year that I move to Portland to work on my Doctor of Ministry degree at Western Seminary.

2016 Workshop

Pastors: Preaching on Fire

Martin Lloyd Jones’ preaching has been described as “logic on fire.” In this workshop we will seek to answer the question, “what about Lloyd Jones' preaching made it so fiery?” Join us in this seminar as we learn some great lessons on preaching from “The Doctor."
