2020 Workshops

Women's Ministry: Introducing One-on-One Discipleship in an Over-Scheduled World

Today’s women experience the tug of so many demands upon their lives in their various roles found in their homes, workplace, school, and relationships. It’s hard to find time to even breathe! Still, Lord Jesus knows the inestimable value of women meeting together around His presence and His Word, one on one or in intimate discipleship groups, based upon their life’s harried schedules.

For the newest of Christians or for the seasoned believer, this workshop will provide easy, non-scary, but powerful tools to introduce how God’s love and His Word can transform lives and release women into ministry through simple discipleship.

We will interact with one another and prayerfully consider how one on one or small group discipleship might work for us personally or in our church or ministry by discussing:

• What is our demographic • What would realistically work in our church or ministry setting • Hindrances to discipleship • The potential of writing our own discipleship materials • How discipleship encourages the release of ministry leaders • How discipleship can multiply small groups or church plants • Marketplace ministry • What it means to “do life together” for more in-depth discipleship

Women's Ministry: A Pastoral Look at Healing For Life's Hurts: For Ourselves and Others

Today, there are plentiful teachings about breaking lies we may believe about ourselves that hinder our everyday lives, reaching our full potential, and even, our walk with Christ. Yet, believers often find that trying to change their mindset alone is not enough. There may be deeper issues to be healed in areas of our soul (emotions and thoughts) where our adversary, the devil, has gained an advantage. The Lord Jesus wants to break these debilitating lies that affect our homes, marriages, workplaces, and yes, our churches.

This workshop will offer practical ways to aid lay and/or pastoral counseling. We will find that when an individual experiences greater freedom in Jesus, His potential within them is released into greater fruitfulness in every area of life, including ministry.

The workshop will include sound Biblical teaching from a pastor’s heart about:

• The relationship of the human soul and spirit • How past hurt or trauma affects us today in the form of lies we believe • The limitations of our enemy • Allowing the Holy Spirit to delve deep to reveal the root of these lies • Breaking agreements with the lies that hinder us today with a short portion of time for the workshop participants to recognize areas of hindrance in their own lives • Hearing God’s voice of truth to replace the lies • How to minister to others • How to maintain freedom through God’s Word and an intimate quiet time with Jesus • Recognizing when professional or medical aid may be needed
