Ryan grew up in Orange County, CA. After graduating college at Cal Poly Slo Ryan worked with Cru in East Asia for two years. There he and his team got to share their faith with hundreds of students who have never had a chance to hear the gospel before and saw many come to Christ. Ryan now lives in Berkeley, CA working with Bridges International which is the international student ministry of Cru. While in Berkeley he has befriended and witnessed to international students from China, India, and the Middle East. Ryan is passionate about helping empower the local church to reach the world through international student ministry.
For many Muslim international students their time here in America is their best chance of ever meeting a Christian or hearing the gospel. If we are ever going to share with Muslims about Jesus we must first understand their world. Learn how to engage well with Muslims and have discussions about faith in Jesus in this workshop.
Maintaining honor and avoiding shame is the cultural world view of the majority of the world while in western countries most people view the world through guilt and innocence. Many people from honor shame cultures come to the US to study and work here so it is important for the church to learn how to minister to honor shame cultures. What does the Bible have to say about honor and shame? Did Jesus die on the cross just for our guilt or did he free us from our shame as well? Join me in learning how to share our faith with people from an honor shame culture.
