Tami Weissert is the President of Servant’s Oasis, a ministry dedicated to rescuing, refreshing and helping men and women grow into the person God has called them to be. Tami’s passion is helping others strengthen their relationship with God by getting to know Him better through spending time in His Word. A people person, Tami loves encouraging those she meets to receive, reflect on and respond to Scripture, as she speaks at churches and conferences around the country.

Tami is the author of Off the Page & Into Your Life: Getting More From God’s Word, one of the instructors and a contributing editor of The Genesis of Woman and Living Better, national DVD faith-based study series for churches, rescue missions and prisons, and the voice of Powered by 4, a daily online Scripture blog which encourages readers to take in, and then put into practice, the truths of God’s Word. The importance of growing closer to God through engaging the Bible is a constant and central theme in her writing and speaking.

Tami enjoys serving in her local church by leading Bible studies and connecting with women during the week. As a lover of music, it’s not uncommon to find her singing and playing keyboard as part of the worship team on weekends.

Prior to joining Servant’s Oasis in November, 2014, Tami was the Executive Vice President and In-House Counsel for the ministry of Back to the Bible. She also served as the co-host of the daily Back to the Bible radio program with Dr. Woodrow Kroll for over eight years.

Tami and her husband, Jeff, live in LaGrange, Georgia, and enjoy many activities together. Their favorite hobby is scuba diving. Turtles, seahorses and eels are a few of their favorite subjects as novice underwater photographers. Watching football, playing golf and taking long walks with their dachshunds are some of the activities they enjoy most when on dry land.

Women's Ministry: Off the Page & Into Your Life: Getting More from God’s Word

3/2/2018

God is speaking to you—and you CAN hear Him! God created us to be in relationship with Him and He gave us His Word so we can hear His voice and get to know His heart and mind. Yet many of us struggle to consistently pick up our Bibles. But reading God’s Word doesn’t have to be a dry, one-way street where we sit and try to concentrate on dusty words in a book. There’s not a one-size-fits-all way to engage God’s Word and grow closer to Him. God created each of us uniquely. So being the distinct people we are, each of us will connect with and learn from God’s Word a little differently. It’s vital to find an approach to engaging God’s Word that resonates with our unique personality. I invite you to join me in this interactive workshop where you will experience a practical and “user friendly” approach to taking in, considering and then living out God’s Word. No matter what amount of time you’ve been spending in the Bible, your time in the Word with God can be incredible this very day and as you go forward!

21st Century Issues: Telling the Truth . . . For God So Loved the World

3/3/2018

While most people agree that we should share our faith, the vast majority of us don’t. As a follower of Christ, Scripture calls every one of us to share the Gospel message through our actions, and specifically with our words. This workshop will provide encouragement and a variety of practical approaches to living out our call to be light in a dark world. Being a modern day witness and light for Christ can seem a little scary, even overwhelming. Join me for this interactive session where we’ll start by looking at what the Bible tells and shows us about being a spreader of God’s message of love and salvation. We’ll then examine and talk about things that hinder us from embracing this charge from God before turning to real life witnessing stories and some simple witnessing tools. We’ll close out the session with a few minutes of practice time to equip you to “tell the Truth!”

Children - Elementary: Courage to Be (Spiritually) Intentional

3/3/2018

Part of our job as we live for God is to be a spiritual teacher to the next generation (Proverbs 22:6). This interactive workshop is designed to encourage parents, grandparents, mentors and teachers to be intentional about using everyday life experiences as an opportunity to teach loved ones and others about God and spiritual matters. In this session, we’ll take a brief look at what the Bible says about guiding, training and teaching our family and those around us, and then consider ways we can train ourselves to be more aware of ordinary life events and observations (nature, media, work/school experiences, conversations) in order to utilize them as a spiritual lesson or example. We’ll close the session looking at the importance of consistently being in God’s Word in our roles as teachers, spending a few minutes engaging God’s Word together. It’s never too early or too late to positively influence those around us. Have courage to be spiritually intentional!
