Joe and Michelle Williams founded The International Center for Reconciling God's Way (ICRGW) in 1999. In 2006 they partnered with The National Institute of Marriage/Focus on the Family, to create a first response ministry for couples whose marriages are in crisis. Their book, Yes, Your Marriage Can Be Saved/Focus on the Family/Tyndale House (2007) is based on their own two-year separation and reconciliation in 1989.
When a couple in crisis or an abandoned spouse finds the courage to reach out to a family member, friend, or someone in their church for help, they need a response that most struggle to provide without getting burnt out or overwhelmed. But, just as a first responder is trained to mobilize help in the wake of a natural disaster, family members and friends can be trained in how to provide aid to bleeding hearts on the brink of divorce. This workshop offers a succinct step-by-step action plan for how to respond to crisis marriages--even when one spouse is unwilling to reconcile.
