2012 Workshops

Youth: Picture perfect: Dealing with Body Image, Media, and Eating Disorders

3/2/2012

Teens view media images more than any other age group and thus are over-exposed to the impossible cultural standard of beauty. We will deal with the images media presents, the body-image struggle, the reality of eating disorders, and what you can do to help! We'll also cover special events and programming ideas in addition to Biblical teaching that can encourage your youth.

Youth: Damaged: Ministering to Traumatized Children and Youth

3/2/2012

An estimated 40% of children will experience at least one traumatic event before they are 18 years old. We'll look at sources of trauma, how it affects youth from infancy to childhood and through adolescence, and what we need to know about it. A study of issues like abuse, anxiety, and depression help you understand what you can do about it.

2011 Workshops

Youth: Lost: Depression and Suicide Prevention

3/4/2011

Suicide is the third highest cause of death among youth and depression is often the precursor to suicide. How do we deal with these mental health issues from a biblical perspective?
