Children - Elementary: Getting Them On Board: Training and Orientation for the Parents in Your Ministry

3/7/2014

One of the most difficult tasks of transitioning to a family ministry model can be getting parents to understand their role as the primary nurturer of their kids’ faith. However, there are some great practical steps you can take to bring parents into this understanding by sharing how you (the church) want to come alongside them in their journey. This session will equip you with the tools to put on an effective orientation for your parents that will bring them into the journey of family ministry that God has your church on.

Children - Elementary: Spiritual Formation for Today's Families

3/8/2014

Imagine a generation that knows God’s voice, desires to obey it and is doing so in the power of the Holy Spirit. If forming faith is what we’re about then what happens on the weekend is not the end goal. How do we engage with families so that we are equipping them to flex their faith muscles while exploring the biblical principles found in God's design to pass faith down from generation to generation? This ministry track will encourage practitioners to evaluate how we are passing on this kind of faith in our teaching. The traditional approach to teaching assumes that we learn differently in the classroom than we do in real life. In actuality, the soul learns differently than the mind. Why is this and how can we teach God’s Word in such a way that lives are transformed and God’s amazing story is replicated in those we teach?

Children's Ministry Leadership: Family Ministry Redefined

3/6/2010

What would a family ministry model look like that embodied the heart of Deuteronomy 6 with the family and incorporated the principles of Ephesians 4 within the church? We will look at an approach to family ministry where the church inspires, supports, and equips parents in their God-given role and allows the home to be the center of spiritual formation.
