Alicia Garcia is an educator and administrator. She started teaching Sunday School when she was 12. She has had the opportunity to work for The John Perkins Center for Community Transformation. During this time, she has had the opportunity to learn directly from Dr. Perkins regarding transformational leadership and the Christian Community Development Association's approach to ministry. She has attended numerous conferences and seminars, has a B.A. in Sacred Music and an M.A. in Education.

21st Century Issues: Overcoming Obstacles

We all have obstacles that are thrown in our way. The obstacles can become crippling and leave us stagnated in the very thing God called us to do. Often, as leaders, we have a more difficult time navigating through these situations because we are expected to be the person providing encouragement. This workshop will help us evaluate what is blocking us from reaching our God given destiny.

This seminar discusses how your church can collaborate with other ministries to bring positive change to your community. This seminar discusses some of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) philosophies of ministry.?More specifically, it discusses collaboration instead of duplication. Ideas and examples are discussed on how different ministries can cease from competition and can pull their resources to enhance the Kingdom of God.

21st Century Issues: Thinking Outside the Evangelism Box

Dr. Perkins uses the statement, "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, feed him for life" and takes it one step further. He says that if you do not have access to the pond, you are still hungry. This seminar deals with reaching the lost people in your community through several different outreach approaches.
