This workshop will address the practical need for self-care, support, and burnout prevention that is faced by many small church solo pastors. In addition, to help reduce the workload on these pastors, the topic of knowing when to refer someone for professional help and how to make a good referral will be covered.
The material to be covered include common myths that men and women hold about sexuality (whether toward themselves or the opposite gender) and also the challenges on a personal/professional level in addressing sexuality.
In a national study, sexual problems were found to be a major public health issue as 43% of women and 31% of men reported such concerns. How can you, as the pastor or ministry leader address sexual concerns with the couples in your church? This workshop with give you practical tips on how to initiate talking about sexuality. Suggestions for working with the non-consummated marriage and with marriages where there are different levels of sexual desire will be presented.
Increase your understanding of some of the dynamics behind marital problems and learn how to effectively help marriages that are in trouble. This workshop will cover practical ways of helping such as things to do and things not to do, and knowing when to refer.
This workshop will address the struggle that many Asian Americans have with perfectionism which has direct impact on their work life, their relationships, and even their ministries. The positive and negative effects of perfectionism will be explored. Practical strategies for change will also be presented.
