2017 Workshops

Singles & Single Parents: Bridging the Gender Gap

3/3/2017

So much confusion exists and heartache occurs when we are misunderstood! Men and women, even Christians, think and feel differently, and this affects how and what we communicate to each other. But we can bridge the gap and achieve understanding by exploring the Scriptures and the latest studies on the human brain. Men CAN really listen and speak what's inside. Women CAN really speak directly and stick to one subject.

Singles & Single Parents: What Is My Calling?

3/3/2017

Calling, purpose and vision are important for all Christians. God has a plan for your life, which unfolds as you walk with Him. Your life is not "on hold" while you are waiting to get married. This workshop will explore three aspects of "calling" in Romans 1. You can discover how to use your gifts and talents for Him right now.

2015 Workshops

Singles & Single Parents: Leaders in Singles Groups

3/7/2015

Leaders burn out if they are not pouring themselves into other leaders, to share the load -- and the joy. A Leadership T.E.A.M. (Teaching, Eating, Activities, Music) covers the four bases necessary for meetings and growth. If you have been asked by your pastor to develop a singles ministry, you need to find people with passion and vision, give them some training, and keep them encouraged in the spiritual battle. They will keep you encouraged too. If Jesus prayed all night before selecting the 12, we must be on our knees for His picks for us.

Singles & Single Parents: Ministering to Your Diverse Singles Group

3/7/2015

Your people are single for a variety of reasons, and their needs often seem conflicting. A never-married individual may resent the single parents, who are saddled with enough guilt already. And even though both the divorced and the widowed are going through a grieving process, there are significant differences in the recovery process. This workshop will present a way to pull these diverse elements together in worship and community, providing ways for small groups to meet particular emotional and relational needs.

Singles & Single Parents: Friendship

3/7/2015

The commands throughout the New Testament to love one another are fulfilled as we develop close friendships. The communications skills, mutual respect, bonding, caring, trusting, and understanding are good practice for a long-lasting marriage. Good friendships combat loneliness and discouragement. Start with same-sex friendships before opposite-sex friendships. Even if you feel romantic love, build that friendship first.
