Bishop Sherwood Carthen
Bishop Sherwood Carthen
Bishop Carthen (born September 1959), in addition to his work as the senior pastor of Bayside of South Sacramento, is also the founder and director of the Our Family Community Foundation, specializing in wellness, wholeness, and faith. He is active nationally in such causes as tobacco education and substance abuse prevention, and in the Sacramento community's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. He is also chaplain for the National Basketball Association's Sacramento Kings.

Bishop Carthen received a degree in theology and an honorary D.Div. in the field of interdenominational service from the Mount Zion Institute and Bible Seminary. Bishop Carthen is very active as a community leader all around metropolitan Sacramento and joined several other African-American religious leaders in support of California's Proposition 8, which bans gay marriage.

He hails from the business community where he worked in management for the California Department of Motor Vehicles. He holds numerous degrees and honors. Due to his strong charismatic presence and dedication to the Lord, Bishop receives numerous requests to speak around the country at men's conferences and retreats.

Diane Dockter
Diane Dockter
Diane Dockter is presently the Office Manager for Redwood Chapel after retiring from the corporate world with AT&T. Diane is a certified facilitator, and her experience includes organizational skills, project management, and process/procedure writing. Diane's organizational and communication abilities will coach the Church Ministry Assistant how to become a clear asset within the church by making the most of partnering efforts and working with the leaders in everyday work situations.

Diane is active in her home church and has led an all-church prayer gathering, facilitates a weekly Bible study, and is involved with mentoring young women both in church as well as in her personal and professional life. Diane is married to Ken Dockter and is the mother of two and a grandmother of nine.
