I have been an Associate Pastor at Community Church of Hayward for 8 years. I am the mother of three, grandmother of seven. I taught children with Learning Disabilities for 13 years and taught children and adults for an additional 17 years. I wrote and edited a reading program for Beacon Publishing Company. I wrote several books for teachers. I was a Reading Specialist and Consultant for schools in Santa Clara, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. I did workshops for ACSI, SPECS and CCAEYC. I was a Mentor Teacher and a Master Teacher for 8 years. I worked for the State of California in the Program Quality Review, the California Writing Project, and the Monterey County Science Implementation Program. I led the Language Arts Adoption Program coordinating over 400 teachers with 12 publishing companies and led the site Student Success Team. I served on the Executive Board for the School Council, a delegate for the NEA convention, a member of the Monterey County Schools Insurance Group Budget Committee and the Salinas City School District Budget Committee. I have written curriculum and teacher training manuals. I also taught in Christian schools and did workshops for ACSI for 25 years. God has given me a passion for small churches. For the last 10 years, I visited and prayed for our churches. I also interviewed pastors and members of congregations. As a result, I designed several studies to help churches become better communicators of God's love and grace.
